Salt to City began with a simple realization: emerging artists in our community are struggling to share their work.
Founded by dancer and creator Hardy, a Utah-born artist now based in New York City, the foundation was inspired by her own circle—emerging artists who moved from Utah to NYC with talent and drive, but few resources to make their ideas possible. Supported by her family, they suggested building a foundation to help fund these artists and kickstart projects they dream of creating.
Many freelance artists collaborate for free out of necessity, but Salt to City believes their work deserves fair pay, visibility, and opportunity. The foundation provides stipends for Utah-connected artists to produce their work in New York, gain high-quality documentation, and then share those creations with audiences in Utah.
By connecting these two creative communities, Salt to City celebrates innovation, nurtures emerging voices, and offers donors the chance to experience original art straight from New York City.
At its core, Salt to City is about possibility—helping artists create, connect, and share work across both cities they call home.
